Pressure on PN supplies

ITH is aware of the current issue facing PN supplies across the UK. Whilst these supply problems are unconnected with ITH we remain committed to doing all we can to support as many affected patients as possible. We are in close dialogue with the MHRA and NHS to alleviate the pressure.

ITH response to CPS decision

ITH response to CPS decision to charge with offences under Section 3 and 33 Health and Safety at Work Act and Section 64 and 67 of the Medicines Act.

“As founders of ITH we have every sympathy for all the families affected, regardless of the cause. However, we are disappointed by the decision to charge the company and will vigorously defend this case. It would not be appropriate to comment further at this stage.”

“Since 2008, ITH has manufactured more than 1.4-million components of total parenteral nutrition and is the sole commercial supplier of reactive feeding solutions to the NHS. This product has helped thousands of extremely vulnerable infants survive premature and complex births. ITH imposes rigorous environmental monitoring on its manufacturing process. The company has always had a strong relationship with the MHRA and continues to receive exemplary ratings for quality and safety.”

ITH Contract Extensions

ITH Pharma has now extended contracts on both the Berkshire and Scottish frameworks for a further 12 months.

The Berkshire framework currently covers up to 29 hospitals with the potential to supply up to 27 different PN product lines.

The Scottish framework covers up to 25 hospitals at present, offering up to 65 chemotherapy lines.

Both agreements will run up to the beginning of 2019.

These extensions are due to the continued quality service ITH Pharma provides. Since our launch back in 2008 our reputation has enabled us to continue supplying more NHS Trusts across the UK.

Since its launch back in April the PN online ordering system has gone on to become a massive success with our customers. After launch the system had its public debut at the Clinical Pharmacy Congress, half a year later we’ve had a 20% uptake in customers ordering their PN completely online.

The PN online ordering system allows customers to dramatically cut down the time it takes to place an order with ITH Pharma. As the system is online there is no need for you to download a program, and the user friendly design ensures the whole process is simple.

Joining the already established Chemotherapy and CIVAS online ordering system, ITH Pharma now offers a complete online ordering solution for all customers to order our products securely and efficiently.

By using the online ordering system accessing your previous order history is simply a mouse click away showing you patient names, products ordered and order and delivery dates. You can see the status of your previous and pending orders, and all orders placed are also confirmed with you by email.

ITH Pharma wins East Midlands chemotherapy tender

ITH has been awarded the East Midlands chemotherapy tender for the next 2, potentially 3 years. The tender allows ITH Pharma to supply chemotherapy products to up to 18 Hospitals across 12 NHS Trusts covered by the East Midlands group.

The framework for the tender covers about 100 product lines. This means we now supply a full range of aseptic items to the East Midlands group, alongside our current arrangements for the supply of Parenteral Nutrition and CIVAS.

This award is in part due to the high level of service that ITH Pharma continues to provide. Since our launch back in 2008 our reputation has continued to grow enabling us to win more work with more NHS Trusts across the UK.

ITH Pharma return to the Clinical Pharmacy Congress 2017

ITH Pharma made a successful return to the Clinical Pharmacy Congress 2017 at London Excel on the 12th and 13th May with our largest ever stand. The exhibition provided a chance for us to connect with a large number of our existing customers to discuss present and future plans for the business.

Chief amongst the topics being discussed were the new cleanrooms at unit 2 that will be operational this year, and will provide increased capacity and backup to our present facilities. Our IT department were also at hand with a virtual reality tour of the new aseptic unit, which was a big hit with many of the attendees of the Clinical Pharmacy Congress 2017 who were brave enough to try it.

Also on show at the exhibition were the chemo and PN online ordering systems running on 2 dedicated computer terminals. This was valuable for attendees to see how simple both systems are to use in comparison to other ordering methods. Customers could also see the benefits online ordering will provide for them with features such as simple repeat ordering and instant email order confirmation.

This year as in previous years there were a number of Doselock devices on hand to show interested customers the specifics of the in-house developed product delivery system. Fitting around the plunger of standard syringe the product comes in 20ml, 30ml and 50ml sizes, and acts as a permanently lockable stem allowing for precise doses to be safely administered to patients.

Other highlights of the event focused on our growing partnership with Georgelle, our QA consultancy services, iCAP testing, and the new Ionised Hydrogen Peroxide Disinfection system at unit 2 that allows for large volumes of products to be simultaneously sterilized.
